Avatars:
Avatars are small images that usually go to the left of your post. There are usually two types of site, and
this site features special uses for each kind.
PHP Forums
To tell what kind of site is a php site, scroll down to the very bottom. There should be something there
saying 'phpBB' and a link to the site by clicking on it. Well, to use avatars on there, first you must RIGHT CLICK on the
avatar and choose SAVE PICTURE AS. Save it in a file, so you can remember where it is. Then, go to the php forum and edit
your profile. Where the avatar section is, choose UPLOAD and find the earlier saved avatar. And there you are! One avatar!.
Other Forum Styles.
These are a bit more complicated. You can tell that this is different as there is no avatar upload
section in the Edit Profile section. To get them to work, click on the name of the avatar (usually below) to open the Avatar
Image Host. RIGHT CLICK on the avatar and choose properties. Then highlight the web address and press CTRL+C. This will copy
it. Return to your forum and tick the box which says 'I have my own image' or summin like that. Press CTRL+V and the pic address
will be posted. And there you are, done!
SIGNATURES.
Signatures go at the end of your post and are like a big banner with an image and your name. To use these,
you must use code on both PHP and Non-PHP forums. First, click the name of the sig you want to use (DO NOT USE ONES FROM MY
SECTION!). RIGHT CLICK and save the sig. Open the sig in paint, and enter your name anywhere on it (make sure that Transparent
text is on). Choose a bright colour so you can see it. Then, get a web host with geocities or the like. RIGHT CLICK the pic
on your new site and get the image URL. THen go to your forum. Where you enter your sig put [img]www.your imageURLhere.com[/img].
Make sure to press CTRL+V inbetween the [img] code. Then submit it and you have a new sig!
